This is a classic dressing made of ingredients that blend perfectly, though perhaps not top of mind as you stare at open pantry doors…just three ingredients when combined wear the hats of so many more. Pomegranate molasses – found in the international section of your supermarket or middle Eastern grocery (as well as online) – brings the fruitiness of pomegranate, a mouth-puckering tart punch and lingering sweetness. oo’mämē Moroccan Chile Crisp adds the heat, along with some sweet, chewy figs and ginger, and some crunchy almonds. Then swirl in some honey (or another sweetener, if vegan) and you have yourself the most fantastic sauce to drizzle across salads or dare we say it?...ice cream!
Pomegranate Molasses + oo’mämē Vinaigrette
Dressings & Sauces
Is it a dressing? Is it a glaze? Is it a syrup? Yes, yes, and yes. This versatile vinaigrette has a sweet-tart finish that makes it perfect on salads, but could also handily glaze a ham or swirl itself atop ice cream. It's rich and its sweet with a final burst of acidity.
1/3 cup pomegranate molasses
1/2 cup honey or other sweetener, if vegan
1 Tablespoon oo’mämē Moroccan Chile Crisp, crunchy bits with the oil drained off
Whisk together all ingredients and combine well.
Store any leftovers, refrigerated, in an airtight, non-reactive container.
Makes a bit less than 1 cup.
